Founded in 1880 by Bordeaux entrepreneur Henry Toursier, this trading house prospered by exporting Sauternes, Cognac and Clairet de Bordeaux. Renowned for the exceptional quality of its drinks and the boldness of its founder, Toursier became a benchmark in the world of wines and spirits. However, as its descendants failed to take over the business, it gradually forgotten into oblivion.
More than a century later, in 2013, the destiny of Maison Toursier took a new turn. Alain Palissière, a Cognac merchant with a passion for the history and heritage of his region, bought an old house in the Charente countryside. The Henry Toursier logo adopts the shape of this house, symbolising a deep connection with its history and roots.
While exploring the attic of this house, he made a discovery : old stencils and posters, all marked with the name Henry Toursier. These remnants of a glorious past immediately captivated Alain. He saw in them opportunity not only to revive a historic brand, but also to perpetuate a cultural and winegrowing heritage.
Motivated by his discoveries, Alain set about reviving the Maison Henry Toursier. After researching its history and methods, he created new Cognac blends, combining tradition and modernity, to revive the spirit of the house.
